DEEPA MEHTAS HEAVEN ON EARTH
HEAVEN on Earth is partly based, demanded that DEEPA MEHTA be given more prominence in the film's publicity. The filmmaker finally succeeded in telling her that it was not just her story, but that of hundreds of NRI wives.
Amandeep Kaur, a woman from Punjab who became a victim of spousal abuse after getting married to a man settled in Toronto, demanded that she get more visibility just months ahead of the movie's release.
at the turn of events, Mehta knocked off all mention of Amandeep from the film on domestic violence that has Preity Zinta in the lead role. But the two did succeed in making peace after a long chat.
"We decided to sit and talk about our problems. Matters have been sorted out with Amandeep. She's back being a proud part of our project. My problem with Amandeep's claim was that Heaven On Earth is not only her story. It's also the story of another abused wife, Mona Gill," said Mehta.
"Amandeep refused to accept that Heaven On Earth was any other woman's story. She claimed it's entirely her story. That was nonsense. How could she claim the entire plot to be hers when half the film is based on Girish Karnad's play Naag Mandala? Heaven On Earth is also the story of hundreds of migrant wives who step into marriages with NRIs without knowing what's in store," the filmmaker explained.

SOYA REDUCED THE RISK OF CANCER
THE women who ate a lot of soy as children had a 58 percent reduced risk of developing breast cancer, US researchers said on Monday in a finding that suggests soy may have a protective effect.
"Childhood soy intake was significantly associated with reduced breast cancer risk in our study," said Dr. Larissa Korde of the National Cancer Institute, whose study appears in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.
Historically, breast cancer rates among white women in the United States are four to seven times higher than in women in China or Japan, Regina Ziegler of the National Cancer Institute said in a statement.
But when Asian women emigrate to the United States, their risk for breast cancer rises over several generations, suggesting something other than genetics was at play. Korde and colleagues checked to see if diet or other lifestyle factors could explain the differences.

IS YOUR BABY IS HEALTHY
GENETIC disorders IN infants are caused when the body lacks certain necessary chemicals or when it is unable to break down chemicals in the body which then accumulates and turn toxic। “This toxic build up can lead to slow physical development or brain damage and in some cases, even death। Most इन्फंट्स will show no obvious symptoms but the toxic build up can be rapid enough for the condition to become irreversible within a few days of birth,” says Dr Anjali Mathur, neonatologist, Moolchand Medcity।
In India, health care professionals believe that at least 100 out of 1000 infant deaths are caused by genetic disorders, a fifth of which could have been prevented by early detection. “Newborns can look healthy to the untrained eye but may have a number of underlying serious diseases that are genetically passed on by the parents. If left undetected and untreated, these diseases, aggravated by improper diets and reactive medication can lead to slow growth, mental retardation, brain damage and in some cases can prove to be labs.

WHAT IS GOING BETWEEN PRIYANKA&SHAHID
Priyanka and Shahid were seen coochie-cooing at producer director Karan Johar's bash. The two were reportedly stuck together like glue throughout the evening. This overt display of love was for everyone to see, thus leaving little scope for imagination. Clearly Priyanka can't ask for anything more, she has the best actor tag, Shahid Kapur as her boyfriend and a whole lot of film offers coming her way. But on the other hand, her ex-Harman S Baweja is not taking his split with Piggy Chops too well. To top it all his film career is also not going great gun

A ROADSIDE BOMB BLAST IN AFGHANISTAN
A roadside bomb ripped through a van carrying civilians in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday, killing seven people and wounding nine others, while three Australian soldiers were wounded in another blast in the south, officials said.
The attacks are a reminder of the dangers facing Afghan and foreign troops as thousands of new U.S. troops roll into the country to try to reverse the Taliban gains of the last three years.
They also came a few days before President Barack Obama unveils his plan to tackle the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan, which is battling an Islamic insurgency of its own.
The explosion that killed the civilians happened in Sabari district of the eastern Khost province while the van was on a road also used by foreign and Afghan troops, said Police Chief Abdul Qajum Bakizoy. He blamed Taliban militants for planting the bomb.

Rumours are rife that her reason for suicide was an aborted affair with the music director. Darbar is denying the charges vehemently, but he HAS attempted not been able to quieten the rumours.
Poonam is currently out of danger but she hasn't given her statement to the police.
Darbar was Poonam’s mentor on ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, and the two were rumoured to have shared a close relationship.
A close friend of Poonam said from Lucknow, where the incident happened, “Poonam's mother said that she complained of a headache after which she consumed her mother's blood pressure and asthma medicines by mistake. Ismail Darbar has denied all the rumours doing the rounds. He claims he lost touch with the star-crossed girl six months ago, after the show. His reaction on having a relationship with the young singer were, “Ya Allah! No, I had no idea about any such thing. Aisa kuchh nahin tha. I have always guided her like a daughter.”

And if anyone is trying to malign my name, I will not take it lying down.”
